Recently, our reporter learned from Luoyang North Glass Technology Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as NorthGlass) that this company has made new progress in promoting innovation of glass deep processing equipment. According to the latest statistics, Northglass’ estimated production capacity of continuous tempering furnace for solar panel in global operation has accounted for over 70% of the world's total production capacity.

Continuous furnace is one of the tempering equipment for glass deep processing. Compared with the traditional tempering furnace, which adopts the way of swinging back and forth to process glass, the continuous furnace can process glass through one-way movement due to the long furnace body. It is especially suitable for tempering large quantities and similar specifications of solar glass, construction glass and glass for household appliance, with the characteristics of high production efficiency, low energy consumption and good optical performance

"In recent years, we have been actively innovating and developing continuous furnaces for manufacturing solar glass, breaking several world records successively." Said Liang Fenglin, director of customer service center of NorthGlass. In order to continuously improve the output of equipment, the length of continuous furnace body manufactured by NorthGlass has been upgraded from the original 18 meters to 24 meters, 30 meters, 36 meters... Up to now, the length of continuous furnace body which the enterprise has just completed commissioning has exceeded 50 meters, setting new world records in size and capacity. The device will be sent to Xinyi Solar, the world's largest manufacturer of solar glass, and it is estimated that the daily production capacity of tempered glass will reach 40,000 square meters, covering about 5.5 standard football fields. 

At present, NorthGlass has developed a number of deep processing equipment for manufacturing curtain wall glass and solar glass. Compared with the "pure flat without spot" tempering furnace for processing curtain wall glass with beautiful and fabulously magnificent shape, the equipment used for solar glass processing has higher requirements on unit energy consumption, the thinner the product is, the stronger the processing capacity of the equipment is. As the world's largest manufacturer of R&D, manufacturing and sales of  tempering furnace, the continuous tempering furnace for solar panel developed by NorthGlass has achieved the manufacturing of 1.6mm semi-tempered glass and 2.5mm fully tempered glass, and all the data are the world's top. At present, there are more than 100 continuous tempering furnace for solar panel developed by NorthGlass in the world with stable operation, and the total annual production capacity is estimated to reach 500 million square meters. According to the statistics of SolarPower Europe, the world's new solar power capacity in 2018 was 104.1GW. According to the calculation of the installed capacity of 150W per square meter, the global demand for rolled glass last year was about 694 million square meters. Therefore, the production capacity of continuous tempering furnace of NorthGlass, which is still in operation, is estimated to account for about 72% of the world's demand.

Liang Fenglin said that with about 10 large continuous tempering furnace for solar panel delivered to customers in the second half of this year, production capacity of solar glass will be further increased and the global market share will continue to increase. In the next step, the company will continue to develop and upgrade ultra-thin tempering technology and relevant deep-processing equipment to provide more high-quality glass for the development of the photovoltaic industry.
